Festival "Le Paris retrouvé de Marcel Proust" - ENTIRELY POSTPONED
INFORMATION 13 MARCH: THE FESTIVAL HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE
With more than thirty events – concerts, readings, talks, workshops, exhibitions, creations and immersive visits – programmed over twelve days, the unprecedented festival Le Paris
retrouvé de Marcel Proust invites the public on a journey into the world of Marcel Proust, in iconic Parisian locations.
Drawing on their close proximity and the mark left by Marcel Proust on the Plaine Monceau district, the Société des Hôtels littéraires and the Hôtel Littéraire Le Swann, the Musées Jean-Jacques Henner and Gustave Moreau, the Librairie Fontaine Haussmann, the Société des Amis de Marcel Proust and the Editions Thélème wished to pay tribute to the author of La Recherche and to live a piece of time regained amid the Plaisirs et des Jours.
Literature, painting, music, poetry, theatre, dance and drawing will thus all be celebrated, in keeping with the festivities begun to mark the centenary of the prix Goncourt, awarded to Marcel Proust on 10 December 1919 for À l'ombre des jeunes filles en fleurs.
Throughout this Parisian Proustian festival, whose name refers to the eponymous book by Henri Raczymow (Éditions Parigramme, 2005), patron of this first edition, there will be meetings with artists and writers, as well as three remarkable exhibitions:
At the Musée Henner, from 11 to 30 March: "Dans l'intimité de Marcel Proust", a selection of letters, prints, portraits, photographs and an annotated edition of Marcel Proust, generously lent by the Musée Marcel Proust-Maison Tante Léonie in Illiers Combray.
At the Hôtel Littéraire Le Swann, from 11 to 31 March: "L'adaptation de la Recherche en bande dessinée" by Stéphane Heuet. An exhibition of the original plates of Combray, enlargements, notebooks and character studies, as part of the Année de la BD.
At the Librairie Fontaine Haussmann, from 17 to 31 March: "Souvenirs de Céleste Albaret", photographs and manuscripts lent by the Hôtel Littéraire le Swann.
