Tribute to Annette Heumann Weil

We learned with sadness of the death, at the age of 99, of Mrs Annette Heumann, née Weil, daughter of Adèle Weil, first cousin of Marcel Proust, to whom the writer was very attached.

Mrs Heumann had been deported with her parents during the Second World War; she was the sole survivor. You will find information on this tragedy on the website proustien.over-blog.com.
