New Acquisition: Portrait of Helleu by Boldini

The Société des Amis de Marcel Proust has just acquired at public auction, at Pandolfini, in Florence, this engraving by Giovanni Boldini depicting Paul-César Helleu.

While works by Helleu were already part of the collections of the Musée Marcel Proust - Maison de Tante Léonie (see for example: /assets/actualites/archive-ancien-site/docspdf-brochure-helleu.pdf), this was not the case for works by Giovanni Boldini, whom Proust knew. This engraving therefore adds to the "painters who were friends of Proust" section of our collection.
