Performance - Summaries of La Recherche by Véronique Aubouy

For more than twenty years, the artist Véronique Aubouy has been building a body of work from and around À la recherche du temps perdu by Marcel Proust.

One of the "offshoots" of her work is this performance, staged for the third year running, during which she attempts to summarise La recherche in one hour, stopwatch in hand: "Steeped in this most unusual book, which has marked so many readers for life, I try to summarise it in my own words, as a story from another era that reveals itself to be of our own time. I offer my intimate and personal perception of this work, which radiates through my life. Each performance is an opportunity to explore different areas of the novel, moving forward along the thread of a random and capricious memory."
