The collections of the Maison de Tante Léonie - Musée Marcel Proust (Illiers-Combray) have just been enriched with the acquisition, at Christie's (the sale of the Stern collection), of a painting by Jean Béraud, « La Baigneuse ».
Jean Béraud was a friend of Proust; he acted as his second in 1897 during his duel against Jean Lorrain, and in 1913 he was one of five recipients of a copy "sur Japon" of « Du Côté de chez Swann ».
