Acquisition of an unpublished letter from Marcel Proust to Albert Nahmias
On the recommendation of Jean-Yves Tadié, vice-president of the Société des Amis de Marcel Proust, the association has just acquired, from a bookseller on the rue de l'Odéon in Paris, an unpublished letter in which Marcel Proust, in 1919, asks Albert Nahmias to intervene with Robert Morane, an aviation pioneer, so that he might give advice to his friend Henri Rochat. This letter was deemed of interest for our collections because it illustrates the evolution of Proust's relationship with his last secretary, but also because it shows his ties with the world of aviation via the engineer Morane.
