NEWSLETTER OF 2 MARCH 2026

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear members,

I. Publication of "Au Louvre avec Marcel Proust"

Announced a few weeks ago, our latest publication, Au Louvre avec Marcel Proust, has just been published.

From Giotto to Delacroix, from the chiaroscuro of Rembrandt to the golden light of Vermeer, the Louvre was, for Marcel Proust, a veritable laboratory of the gaze. This brochure invites you to wander the museum's galleries in the writer's footsteps, through three thematic routes that weave correspondences between the works and the pages of La Recherche du temps perdu.

With an introduction by Laurence des Cars, former president-director of the Louvre museum, and a preface by Antoine Compagnon, of the Académie française, it is accompanied by texts by Emily Eells, a specialist in particular in the relations between Proust and painters.

Original edition limited to 200 numbered copies — 168 pages, numerous illustrations, €11.90.

- The publication, on 18 March, by éditions Stock, of the Parfum des années, a book by Evelyne Bloch Dano in the collection "Une nuit au musée" (in this case, at the Villa du temps retrouvé). It will be presented at the librairie Delamain on 19 March (see below)

- An article entitled Curzio Malaparte, le proustien qui aboie, published on the Proustonomics website

A few places remain for lunch at the restaurant La Madeleine d'Illiers (bookings: https://www.helloasso.com/associations/societe-des-amis-de-marcel-proust/evenements/aubepines-2026).

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death, on 13 February, at the age of 92, of Nicolas Grimaldi, a philosopher who devoted several books to Marcel Proust (La Jalousie, étude sur l'imaginaire proustien ; Essai sur la jalousie. L'enfer proustien ; Proust, les horreurs de l'amour ).

We extend our most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

As usual, you will find further information in the previous letter (17 February), some of which is still relevant.

Yours faithfully,

Jérôme Bastianelli
