The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 11am to 5.30pm. It is closed on Mondays. Special hours may be announced for certain events: check the museum's news before your visit.

The museum is closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. For other public holidays, check the up-to-date practical information, especially when the holiday falls on a Monday, the closing day.

No booking is needed for individual visitors: simply come to the front desk during opening hours. Booking becomes mandatory for groups of 15 people or more.

Full price: €11. Reduced price: €8 for people over 65, students, teachers, jobseekers, people with disabilities and visitors of the Villa du Temps retrouvé. Admission is free for under-18s, members of the Société des Amis de Marcel Proust, residents of the Entre Beauce et Perche community of communes, journalists and ICOM cardholders. The group rate is €8 per person, with accompanying leaders admitted free. Conditions and supporting documents are confirmed at the front desk.

Individual visitors currently discover the museum independently. An introductory room, written material and an audio commentary accessible by QR code accompany the visit. The format for group visits is set with the team when booking.

The written visit material is available in English, German, Italian and Spanish. An audio commentary is also offered in English. For a non-French-speaking group, indicate the language you would like when booking.

Yes, photography is allowed during the visit.

A lift, supplemented by a stairlift, avoids stairs and makes it easier to move around the museum. To best prepare for your welcome or to signal a particular need, contact the team before your visit. The reduced price is €8; arrangements for assistance are to be confirmed with the museum.

Dogs are admitted only if they can be carried, for example in a bag. They may not move freely around the house. For an assistance dog or a particular situation, contact the museum in advance.

Booking is mandatory from 15 people. Write to contact@amisdeproust.fr or call 07 87 30 53 80, stating: the desired date and time, the number of participants, the type of group, the language of the visit and any accessibility needs. The slot is only final once confirmed by the museum.

The house has several rooms of limited size. For large groups — around 40 people or more — the team can organise sub-groups and an alternating route. The precise arrangement is confirmed when booking.

Participants are dropped off at place Lemoine, right next to the museum; coaches park at place Maunoury. Ask for confirmation of the route when booking.

The museum is located at 4, place Lemoine, 28120 Illiers-Combray. By car from Paris, take the A11 motorway, Illiers-Combray exit. By train from Paris-Montparnasse, the journey involves a change at Chartres towards Courtalain. By bicycle from Chartres, allow about 33 km.
