Tribute to Robert Kahn
We learned with sadness of the death of Robert Kahn, former senior lecturer at the Université de Rouen, known in particular for his translations of Franz Kafka.
Robert Kahn was also an eminent Proustian, since the thesis he had defended at the Université Paris III was entitled "Temps du langage, temps de l'Histoire : Marcel Proust et Walter Benjamin".
You will find on the website of the Université de Rouen details of his various publications. In 1997, he had written for our society's Bulletin an article entitled "De Combray à Berlin, Marcel Proust et Walter Benjamin", an article available on the Gallica website. In addition, by clicking this link you will find the last article he wrote for the Bulletin d'informations proustiennes, published in 2014 under the title "Un « Sonderweg » vers Proust : le cas de Hans-Robert Jauss".
The Société des Amis de Marcel Proust et des Amis de Combray extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Robert Kahn.
